After reading David Weinberger’s new book, Everything is Miscellaneous, the‚ BetterBadNews panel took a look at the Youtube sketch comedy competition
sponsored by Pepsi. According to David Weinberger, big media companies are dumb to treat information as an asset.

When media companies like YouTube let sponsors pay big bucks to conduct contests that override actual viewer rankings the net effect is hopelessly compromised
at the expense of viewer trust and reputation. YouTube should explain if it was their intention for the YouTube sketch comedy competition to serve as a metaphor for democracy in America in the early 21st century.
