personality, company founders Chad Hurley and Steve Chen receive a
tongue lashing for allowing advertisers to purchase the featured video
spot on YouTube’s homepage effectively debasing the user ranking
system.
Renetto placed a $100 bet that he could prove
YouTube founder Steve Chen responded to his complaints by asking him to
serve as a conduit to the YouTube community. Skeptics were encouraged
to call his bluff. One YouTuber was reported to have raised the bet to
one thousand dollars.
To settle claims of disputed evidence
and to determine how to distribute the winnings the BetterBadNews panel
proposed that a volunteer user jury be convened to establish standards
for user generated justice.
